I started this company in July 2009 to help out homeowners choose the right contractor to complete the work that needed to be done on the exterior of their home. Creating a positive environment and developing a good relationship with the customer was the biggest challenge, but with the right attitude I was able to gain their interest and help them out.

Estimated jobs on the damage done by the recent hail storm. The bid on the repairs had to be both competitive in price and in favor of the homeowner. Estimating a job included: measuring roofs and siding for correct number of squares, measuring the length of gutter to be replaced, and measurements of window(s)/ screen(s). As project manager, I oversaw all jobs to make sure they were being done correctly and on time.

As an Insurance specialist, I became very familiar with claim numbers, insurance adjusters, and what it takes to correctly file and fax over documents that included full page breakdowns of the assessed damage done to the house by the hail storms.

I was able to refine the skills that I learned working with Elk Construction and set new, realistic goals that were met within 3 months of working and made the company very successful.

First year experience taught me the ins and outs of selling, estimating, managing, collecting funds, and closing a job. Shadowing another salesman was a big part of the learning process, and once I had the basics down, I started selling on my own.

I walked into this job having 3 years of landscape experience under my belt. So when I was hired over the phone, I was given the opportunity to operate a bobcat for the company. I also drove dump trucks, a back-hoe, a dingo, and packer.

Produce & Stock Boy I started out bagging groceries and within 2 months I quickly moved up to Cashier. Within the next year I was given the opportunity to take on several other positions such as stocking the store, working produce (fresh vegetables and fruits), and helped set up and take down the bakery department.
