Resulting in the most efficient result at a gurney flap length of 5% chord length, allowing for a 3N increase in downforce• Evaluated mesh optimization and refinement on car using Star CCM+ to get residual values of 10-4 for 3D simulations and attaining appropriate wall y+ values. Additionally applying correct mesh refinement regions and prism layers to capture the boundary layer• Guided new aerodynamic members through Star CCM+ and the CFD design process. Validated results for quality and provided aid for members where required.• Operated a wind tunnel to visualize detachment regions, and vortex flow with smoke tracing in order to optimize the angle of attack of 3 element wing and achieve maximum downforce.• Fabricated molds to do a carbon fiber layup for infusion molding in order to manufacture aerodynamics package ensuring a smooth finish.
