Currently a Dispatcher on one of Europe's busiest rail routes.I am mainly responsible for dispatching Trains in a safe and timely manner. As a Safety Critical member of staff some of my other duties involve:- Dispatching Trains- Communicating and liaising with the Signallers to get Trains diverted / stopped in times of disruption or during an emergency- Liaising with Train Operating companies during disruption to organise getting Trains moving & passengers to where they need to be.- Listening and helping people who may be suicidal & try to get them the best help possible- Efficiently dealing with Anti Social Behaviour, harassment of other passengers, Fare Evasion, Trespassing on the Railway- Working and Liaising with the British Transport Police, Hertfordshire Police & Metropolitan Police during incidents that require police attendance.- Making sure all Passengers, staff, contractors are safe on the Station at all times.- Working alongside staff from other TOCS (Avanti West Coast, WMT, TFL, Southern & Caledonian Sleeper) when they need assistance with passengers, Train Terminations and more.
