I Chaired the Licensing Committee which is responsible for discharging the local authorities licensing duties pursuant to legislation. These responsibilities included:- Approving, rejecting and revoking Taxi (Hackney Carriage) and Private Hire licences pursuant to the Licensing Act 2003,- Issuing of Zoo Licences pursuant to the Zoo Licensing Act 1981,- Granting permission for performances of hypnotism within the Borough pursuant to the Hypnotism Act 1952.- Dealing with applications for Club Gaming/ Gambling Machines in establishments pursuant to the Gambling Act 2005.- Conducting premises reviews under the Gambling Act 2005,- Dealing with the registration and regulation of small society lotteries in the Borough,- Approving, rejecting and revoking licences for Cinemas, Theatres, Alcohol sales, pool promoters, track betting,- Other duties discharged by the Leader of the Council.

Directly responsible for several departments and offices within NBBC including:- Leisure and Sports Development. My department secured a £15m funding application for a new leisure centre in Bedworth from the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government as part of the Government's Levelling Up Fund. - Culture. Responsibility for the Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery.- Licensing. Overseeing the awarding of all licences in the Borough including, Taxi & Private Hire Vehicle Licences, Alcohol & Entertainment Licences, Gambling Licences and local film classifications. - Refuse & Recycling. Overseeing the work of the Refuse Department in carrying it's day to day frontline operations, in particular, refuse collections. As a result of increased concern in the Borough about fly-tipping, my Department successfully increased the number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued against fly-tippers. - Deputy Whip of the Conservative Group. Supporting the Council's Chief Whip in getting the business of the controlling group through the Council. Working with the Whips Office to ensure that the Conservative Group's manifesto (supported by 58% of residents in the Borough) was implemented by May 2022. - Other duties authorised and discharged by the Leader of the Council.

I supported a Member of Parliament in his day to day Constituency operation. I corresponded with constituents and local businesses on a whole range of issues including problems within local government, government departments and agencies (including the Home Office, Ministry of Justice & Department for Work and Pensions), and local external agencies such as West Midlands Police and the NHS. I successfully defended a constituent in her tribunal appeal against a decision taken by the Department for Work and Pensions to refuse her Universal Credit application, a HMCTS Tribunal overturned the DWP's ruling.
