As a process/systems engineer at Carbon America, I play a pivotal role in designing, constructing, and operating a pilot plant to showcase our cutting-edge carbon capture technology, FrostCC. My hands-on involvement has spanned the entire project life cycle, from initial concept development to 24/7 facility operation. Working in a fast-paced, lean engineering team, I have gained valuable insights into the challenges of bringing new technologies from concept to pilot to market.I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in May of 2018. I continued my education at Colorado School of Mines as a Mechanical Engineering Master's student with a focus on the applications of the thermal sciences. As a part of the Advanced Energy Systems Group (http://aes.mines.edu/), my graduate research focused on chemically reacting flow in intermediate temperature protonic-ceramic fuel cells and combining the fundamental physics models with economic models to optimally position the fuel cell system designs for medium-scale distributed power generation for industrial buildings such as data centers, hospitals, factories, and warehouses. My background in chemical engineering, coupled with my mechanical engineering education, equips me with a solid foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. My graduate research and work experience have allowed me to exercise my techno-economics skills and focus in on the intricate details of bringing emerging technologies from concept to reality. I am mission driven and passionate about applying these principles to real-world, high impact R&D and process engineering projects. Sectors that resonate with my interests include green technology, energy, carbon capture, and aerospace. In my free time I design and build snowboards in my garage on my homemade pneumatic press. I have also taken up sewing so that I can design and make my own backpacks and other outdoor gear, experimenting with new technical fabrics and creating unique features that aren't available on commercial products.
Listed skills include Organic Chemistry, Backpacking, Snowboarding, Chemistry, and 8 others.
