I am passionate about creating great places for people and have over two decades of experience developing unique master planned communities in both resort and suburban settings. As Senior Vice President of Master Planned Communities, I am developing and overseeing the strategy, vision, development, financing, and execution of large-scale multi-use, multi-decade projects for McWhinney. I am also leading McWhinney's sustainability initiatives across the organization.Prior to joining McWhinney, I spent 11 years with Granby Ranch, a 5,000-acre resort community in the Colorado Rockies, first as Vice President of Development and then as CEO. During my time with Granby Ranch, I oversaw the development of 850 residential units, developed a new master plan for the community, extended entitlements by 40 years, established a variety of community amenities including a skier services building, golf clubhouse & event pavilion, community pool and fitness facility, downhill mountain bike park, and 40 miles of community trails, all while leading the team that turned these amenity operations to profitability. Additionally, I served as president of the various community metropolitan districts and served on the homeowner's association boards.Prior to joining Granby Ranch, I was a consultant both for Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Grand County and Marabou Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, assisting those organizations with master planning activities. I also served as Project Manager for Hines Interests and was responsible for master planning, commercial leasing, construction build out, and property management activities at Winter Park Resort. Before Hines, I was a Senior Consultant in the financial services area for Accenture. I earned my bachelor’s degree in history from Duke University in 1991 and my MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. I enjoy downhill and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, exploring new places, and getting outdoors with my wife and two sons.
