Initially, my position at SDYS started at 30 hours per week, which enabled me to double as a Teaching Artist. As a Teaching Artist I taught flute through the Sponsored Lessons Program which is designed to give financial aid families access to free/reduced group and private lessons, and I also coached chamber music. Over the first 5 months I grew the position from 30h per week to 40 hours. • Designed and managed supplemental Conservatory programs including: Sponsored Lessons, Chamber Music, and Mentor Program. • Enhanced supplemental programs through the development of master classes, mock auditions, practice logs, correlating requirements of Canada’s Royal Conservatory of Music with the audition requirements of SDYS, and personal follow-ups with specific students requiring additional attention yielding a 23.07% increase in student advancement.• Conceptualized, implemented, and facilitated Artistic Planning meetings with students and conductors for students who had been in the same ensemble for 3+ years.• Liaised and interacted regularly with SDYS families to help build a deeper sense of community.• Coordinated 650+ students across 3 programs consisting of 14 total ensembles and various supplemental programs.• Lead coordinator in the implementation of a custom built database and registration system that has dramatically improved efficiency and projection. • Supervised assistants in administration of attendance of Conservatory programs, roster preparation, volunteer service sign-ups and tracking, financial aid families, and various other duties.
