I've read numerous books about leadership over the years, and the common theme among them is never asking anyone to do something that you are not willing to do yourself. That's something that I've taken to heart and have been able to follow throughout my life. It has worked in every aspect of my professional life from working side-by-side with direct colleagues, to working on projects with people outside of the company, and finally to helping train people in the workforce.Although I'm able to quickly learn new skills and adapt to environmental changes, my greatest skillset is my ability to sell myself to colleagues and potential clients. Working as a part of a team is how I will always prefer to conduct business, even in a leadership role. This can be attributed to being involved in team sports at a very young age all the way throughout my adult life. No teammate will take you seriously if you are not willing to put in the same work that everyone else is. That is the motto that I live by.
