I am a remote camera operator for KinaTrax baseball systems. KinaTrax technology provides sensorless motion capture systems for Major League Baseball teams, and I operate cameras for the stadiums of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and their minor league affiliates. I have also worked on smaller projects, including motion capture for World Baseball Classic games in Arizona and a youth baseball program in partnership with a sporting goods store. My responsibilities include turning on and setting up the camera array before each game, starting and stopping cameras during each play, entering data about the players on the field, and troubleshooting any issues as they arise.

I served as a tutor classroom Matters, which provides tutoring and academic support to K-12 students in the Bay Area. My students range from ages 10-17, and while I primarily tutor math, I worked with my students on other subjects including biology, computer science, and writing. Classroom Matters also focuses on teaching executive functioning, helping students practice valuable skills like planning and time management that aren't traditionally taught in school. I teach both in-person and online students, and have become well-versed in online resources for teaching and tutoring during my time here. I was the lead floor facilitator and planetarium presenter at the Lawrence Hall of Science. My work involved providing informal, hands-on science lessons to hundreds of young children each day. I coordinated instruction in numerous exhibits where children can build their own devices like rockets and marble machines, explore the plants and animals of the Bay Area in an outdoor setting, and learn about the science of creating music. As a lead educator, I also trained new facilitators to become talented educators.In the Lawrence Planetarium, I delivered presentations with up to 50 audience members about constellations in the night sky. My shows covered topics including the traditional origins of the constellations and how they vary in cultures around the world, navigating the night sky, and identifying constellations. I also presented a show about the missions to Mars, discussing geographical features of Mars, a history of the Mars rovers, and the physics of space travel.

I led the Online Learning Services (OLS) team at the UC Berkeley College of Computing, Data Science, and Society. In this role, I managed many of the campus's online data science initiatives. Our primary project was the management of Data 8x, an introductory data science course hosted on edX and has had over 20,000 enrolled students. The OLS team updates course curriculum in collaboration with UC Berkeley data science professors, answers student questions through an online forum, and runs auto-grading infrastructure for the course. Data 8x covers all the material from Data 8, an introductory course taught at Berkeley, and we provide access to our curriculum to learners across the world.In 2021, we built and taught a student-run DeCal course on the Berkeley campus called Data 198: Applied Data Science for Research and Discovery, a class that taught the fundamentals of data science for students who wanted to conduct data-driven research in other fields. The class taught topics including exploratory data analysis and logistic regression without requiring an upper-division background, and had a successful test run, with each student completing their own research investigation as a final project.I have also worked on smaller curriculum design projects for other classes and campus programs. Our team developed a set of curriculum notebooks and exercises for interns at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. These notebooks provided an introductory data science curriculum for high school students without prior programming experience.

I wrote for PitcherList, a baseball site that primarily focuses on fantasy baseball. I worked on the "Nastiest Pitches" column, where I wrote about the best pitches from the previous day's games. I used videos from MLB games alongside pitch data from Statcast to explain the most important qualities of each individual pitcher.

I served as a student teacher in middle and high schools in the Berkeley and West Contra Costa unified school districts through field placements in the CalTeach program at UC Berkeley. I completed the four-course sequence of teaching-based courses in the CalTeach program, accumulating over 100 hours of field experience working with classroom teachers. Through these field placements, I worked with groups of students in math, computer science, and physics classes. In each classroom I worked in, I was able to plan and teach a full lesson using the 5E method.

As an officer, I organized club meetings and social events for one of the largest mental health advocacy groups, as well as one of the only peer support groups on campus. I planned workshops for meetings that discussed mental health topics including mental grounding and thought reframing techniques. I was also involved in club outreach, working to provide resources and support to the general UC Berkeley population. In this role, I planned events in campus residence halls where we discussed the importance of mental wellness with first-year students while providing de-stressing activities like painting and giving away potted plants.

I taught introductory computer science to K-12 students. Most of my students learned the Python programming language, where I primarily taught a course about computer graphics using Python turtles. Other students used block-based programming languages like Scratch, learning elementary control structures and the fundamentals of game design. I was also responsible for contributing improvements and feedback to the existing curriculum and communicating information about my students' progress to their families.

Through the Sports Analytics Group at Berkeley, I was on a team that worked on a project for the San Francisco Giants. We used Giants player data from Blast Motion sensors, which tracks data points from players' swings, to quantify player development and give recommendations for coaches and the organization. After conducting exploratory data analysis to understand the dataset we were provided, we produced a one-page graphical report for each player that included actionable information for on-field coaches to use in instruction. Upon completion, we presented our findings and code to Giants front office staff and coaches at their training complex in Arizona.
