Software Developer

I am currently in a brand new role with JM Family Enterprises in which I will partner with the Data scientists of JM&A to:support production deployment of models and web applications related to technologies developed by the Data Science team; participate in new development of web applications and restful api’s; gain exposure to production machine learning model pipelines and the design and creation of new models using statistical techniques. Responsibilities of the role:Continually check metrics and validate models, compute model performance metrics.Access, analyze, cleanse, pre-process data.Retrieve data from multiple stores CSV/Teradata/Oracle/API/.Train new models per specifications from Data Scientist.Deploy new models and determine when to replace existing.Configure Linux server web sites and update code base as needed.Monitor web application performance and fix issues accordingly.Configure SQLite/SQL/Mongo databases and stored queries, updating as needed.Participate in meetings and offer ideas and solutions to present problems.Technology used:Python (numpy/pandas/matplotlib/sklearn/flask)Version control (git)SQL and database APIs (cx_oracle, pymysql, sqlalchemy)Cloud deployment experience (AWS, containerization) and familiarity with AWS servicesExperience working in an Agile/Scrum environmentMachine Learning algorithm development experience.Ability to learn new technologies rapidly and turn around implementations.Interpersonal skills:Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to effectively communicate to all levels with varying degrees of technical knowledgeCritical thinking Independent problem resolutionAbility to work in a team and collaborate with others

Contributing to a learning platform that helps professionals develop new skills that focus on leveraging data and aiding their future employers.Helping professionals working with this boot camp to obtain skills in data analysis and visualization.Teaching technical skills such as programming languages: JavaScript, Python, and SQL.

An internship with Jm Family in which I have had the opportunity to work with a team to develop web based dashboards for data reporting using google sheets and the google script API. Also have had the opportunity to work with Db visualizer and PLSQL as I work on a project to improve a process that provides alternative solutions to auto body shops that we partner with.
