Hello! My name is Kyle Palmatier and I am a Highway Engineer at Fisher Associates, PE, LS, LA, DPC. I have been with Fisher since July 2024. Prior to Fisher, I attended and graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation Engineering in May 2024.While at the University at Buffalo, I had the opportunity to get involved with the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) Buffalo Chapter. SEDS gave me a very early opportunity to work directly with different disciplines of engineering through the Intercollegiate Rocketry Engineering Competition (IREC). This competition allowed me to travel to New Mexico and connect with rocketeers from all over the world, who also shared the same passion of rocketry. For the three years I attended, we competed in the ten thousand foot, student researched and developed category (10K SRAD). Within our category, we were recently able to achieve third place! Although we did not get the trophy, we were grateful for the opportunity to compete for the third year in a row. Additionally, I was able to explore my passion for space and astronomy through various club activities that were ran with out Astronomy Lead. I was able to lead SEDS as their Treasurer for two years, managing the clubs finances and helping plan the trip to the IREC competition.I now reside at Fisher Associates as a Highway Engineer. Within Fisher I have been able to work with a variety of individuals from different disciplines such as Environmental Engineers, Landscape Architects, Planners, Land Developers, and GIS Analysts. Fisher has taught me a lot in the short time I have been with them so far, but I can't wait to see what the future holds.
