And as we grew together, he took over P&L responsibility and became an even more informed leader. An average manager gets sales done, Kyle is a leader who provides the best Guest experience while always focusing on company results! Intellectual Courage. Like Emagine’s founder, Paul Glantz, Kyle is one of those rare intellectually courageous leaders. For me, this sets apart true leaders from managers. Kyle knows he’s strong in sales and events, AND he also accepts he has growth areas outside of his expertise (e.g., finance and IT). It’s this humility that makes him such a strong leader. Kyle and I did not always see eye to eye. What impressed me most was his confidence in his area with a willingness to ask questions and learn during our disagreements. Our best efforts were always because of leadership like Kyle’s. Adaptable Communicator. Kyle also shines at communications. He regularly switched between C-level conversations over strategic decisions, to debates with Ops on how best to run an event, to responding to a Guest (on rare occasions, a disappointed one). And in each conversation, he skillfully listened to the other person, recognized where they were coming from and then adapted his communication style to create the best conversation for THAT person. I couldn’t have done Kyle’s job and I’m so thankful leaders like him exist, Guest whisperers who exemplify the best in Guest experience and company leadership! Kyle is a true mensch and great leader!
