As a building maintenance apprentice worker, I was required to learn and possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades. My job duties varied on a day to day basis. One day I might have had to paint a kitchen another, fix a broken window lock. As a building maintenance apprentice, I was required to report to repairs that require basic skills as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, painter, and roofer. However, I was always aware of my limitations and requested the services of a licensed professional when needed.

As an operator on the M3 weld line, I was required to check the welds from the robots on car shock absorbers that are manufactured for Toyota and Honda. My responsibility was to check that the welds where to the right specification in order to be passed and moved on to the next process. Failure to meet the specification, I was required to weld the shock absorbers, so that they were suitable and of a high standard to be made fit to be Passed on to the next process.

As a shop floor assistant, I was required to spend lots of time on my feet serving customers, making recommendations, helping, advising, directing and dealing with enquiries. I was also given specific tasks, such as operating the tills, carrying out stock take and stocking the shelves whilst working for the company.

I was required to undertake general maintenance work around the village of Cwmaman South Wales. Duties included painting, fence fixing, gardening and general groundwork. One of my main responsibilities I had as a taskforce team member was to carry out activities for the school children during the summer holidays. Activities included rugby, football, mountain climbing and days out to local attractions.
