Aerospace Engineer - Launch Risk Analyst

Evaluated, generated and assembled information needed for flight safety hazard analysis and risk assessment and develops technical reports to document progress and results of data development activities. Served as the risk analysis expert for ballistic/space launches and orbital re-entry recovery operations and converted results of analysis into practical recommendations and procedures.
Flight Commander - Fighter/Trainer Test Flight

Cross-trained with aerial refueling test flight to support F-35 JSF aerial refueling certification and envelope expansion as TC. TC for the T-38C Block 9 Avionics Upgrade Program Preliminary and Developmental Tests, Heavyweight C-12 Autopilot, USAFA PFP programs. As FTE and PSL, authored test cards, completed test packages, and presented 412 Operations Group approval briefs for the following programs: Shadow Harvest C-130 Radar Program, Wind Turbine Radar Interaction, Radiant View Radar Test, AFFTC F-16 Pacer Calibration, Raytheon SITES Radar Test, T-38C Overheat and Performance, and T-38C Inlet Total Temperature Bias Mitigation. Instructed TC mission planning courses for the 412 Test Wing in to train future AFFTC TCs. Cross-trained with Standardization and Evaluation flight shop to support squadron and CTF aircrew qualifications.
Systems Engineering Intern
Created documents defining system operation, input/outputs, error conditions, and error recovery for automatic cannon systems and Gun Control Units (GCU). Created simulations to demonstrate the firing cycle of different weapons systems. Rewrote requirements for a Component Requirements Document (CRD) and created software flowcharts to show state and logic flow for GCU. Uncovered a system problem with a gun system and proposed a successful temporary software solution for a military demonstration. Supported integration and testing of weapons.
