Web designer and webmaster for small to medium sized businesses and non-profit organizations. Developed site designs that emphasized and enhanced company branding. Consulted on various technologies to enable an effective presence on the web (content management systems, web hosting, emerging technologies, etc.).

Worked on the Juju GUI, https://github.com/juju/juju-gui, crafting a beautiful web application for managing cloud services. Participated in the launch of Juju-as-a-Service, https://jujucharms.com, with a focus on client-side Javascript development and a side-helping of server-side Python.

Working to broaden SourceForge's target audience through the creation, testing, and launch of various software verticals. I also support ongoing testing efforts via the open source Switchboard package (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/switchboard/), which allows SourceForge to flip features on and off for various audience segments. Finally we're working on continually improving UI and UX across the site as we roll out new development tools to our almost 400,000 projects.

Led efforts to revitalize AB testing and begin user testing on the consumer-oriented portions of the SourceForge.net web site. Conducted testing for team that improved summary page-to-download conversions by 8%, leading to almost 1M more downloads each month. Currently involved in optimizing the download funnel to not only convert but also retain & engage site visitors.

Responsible for building a complex feature set in a short period of time on a new website using the latest open source technologies. Includes gathering requirements, collaborating with other developers, and executing on feature requests in a timely manner.

Started out supporting developers via work on software configuration management tools and build systems. Moved to developing enterprise CRM systems, primarily Java development for web-based applications. Introduced some of the first uses of AJAX into the enterprise systems. Peer mentored other developers, assisting with learning test-driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, and other agile techniques.

Technical support position for student residential network. Assisted students with network setup and troubleshooting. As team lead, responsible for overseeing staff assignments when on duty. Also responsible for second-tier technical support on helpdesk calls.
