  I test consumer electronics that are under development by performing regression testing of new software and hardware for different clients. Many of the products use Bluetooth LE or other wireless technology. In addition, I write test plan documents and check that the functionality of the unit meets the spec without issues or bugs. Also, running audio, signal strength and power draw tests. Some tests require a scope or spectrum analyzer. While testing, I collect wired or sniffer traces to help others identify the cause of problems I find with functionality. Occasionally, I measure the dimensions and mechanical structure performance of discrete parts and perform fundamental strain calculations to check design specs. For example, I created a model with MATLAB for analyzing membrane deflection at any point along the length due to changes in atmospheric pressure. Additionally, I solder components using a microscope on circuit boards needing a rework and check the results or set up development boards. I am familiar with schematics and use them for reference or to identify wiring design mistakes. I designed and made a table sized, sound isolating acoustic chamber from plywood and perform audio testing with it.
