Influencing Others: One of my proudest moments was serving as an IU Dance Marathon Committee Chair in 2023. As a Committee Chair, I was tasked with attending weekly chair and committee meetings and leading a group of my peers through fundraising exercises during a 36-hour dance marathon. In total, I dedicated six hours on a weekly basis to my role as an IU Dance Marathon Committee Chair. I strive to be the best version of myself and to help others do the same.Community Building: During the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to serve as a Senatorial intern in Washington, DC. As a Senatorial intern, I attended briefings and committee hearings on behalf of the Senator and his staff. In addition, I spoke to constituents in-person and over the phone, drafted constituent letters, and conducted tours of the Capitol. I enjoy finding ways to help improve my community, and building relationships with the people in it.Personal Development: I am actively working towards being a bilingual world citizen. In order to achieve this goal, I am pursuing a minor in the Spanish language. Outside of daily course work, I seek to communicate with native speakers, and to watch movies and tv shows in the language. In total, I spend about 10 hours weekly practicing my Spanish-language skills. This past spring, I engaged in a semester study abroad program in Seville, where classes were conducted entirely in Spanish and I had the opportunity to intern at a local consulting, accounting, and administration firm. I view each day as an opportunity for growth and am committed to being a life-long learner.
