I was the Rockwell’s department head at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA. Within my department I was the GM for Rockwell’s steakhouse and In Room Dining for the resort, I also managed The Pantry coffee and retail shop, The Lobby Bar, The Cigar Bar, and The Cigar Shop. I had two assistant managers and 60 associates under the umbrella of the Rockwell’s department.

Prior to being the purchasing manager I was the bar manager where I was responsible for buying all beer and spirits for Joe’s.

At the Sheraton Grand Chicago I managed over 75 union restaurant and bar workers at 3 restaurants, a coffee shop, the lobby bar, club lounge and in room dining. I was the department head for the lobby bar for 9 months, during this time I held the outlet to a 16% average beverage cost. During my time at the Sheraton I also assisted in banquet operations at the hotel while supervising more than 50 union banquet servers running events, some with more than 2000 attendees.

I was a member of the management team at the Belden Stratford, a luxury apartment building in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago. My duties included touring prospective tenants around the property, conducting market research about other properties in the neighborhood, and writing leases and leas renewals for the property.

I worked all positions in the front of the house at MityNice Bar and Grill, located at the Water Tower Place Mall on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. In addition to floor experience, I was given the opportunity to train with the managers in the day to day operations of both MityNice and FoodLife at Water Tower Place. The internship culminated with a final project where I, along with 3 teammates, designed a restaurant concept to pitch to partners at Lettuce Entertain You.
