Responsible for leading a team to manage the day-to-day engagement with over 11,000 trade waste customers to ensure the protection of people, assets, treatment processes, maximise reuse of wastewater by-products and the environment by ensuring compliant trade waste is discharged into the sewer network. This includes managing a team of Trade Waste Operation Team Leaders and Trade Waste Officers to directly engage with customers in the field to undertake monitoring, assessment of customers treatment plants and discharge quality. This includes management of trade waste consents and ensuring the appropriate risk ranking and requirements are in place.• Lead a high achieving team of people, by promoting and delivering excellent service standards in accordance with business objectives• Lead a team of field-based trade waste officers providing customer service to and monitoring regulatory compliance of over 11,000 customers across industrial and commercial trade waste in South East Water’s region. • Ensure appropriate systems are in place to maintain customer and trade waste data and to enable efficient and accurate workflow.• Drive development, delivery and evaluation of a range of high-level trade waste strategies, policies, projects and initiatives to optimise and implement best practice in the trade waste field.• Using systems and programs, including financial, procurement, people, records, auditing, risk assessment and reporting, to progress and monitor organisational and employee performance and achievement, to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.• Provide technical advice on trade waste management, including assessment, approval, monitoring and compliance• Ensure staff are fully trained and competent in trade waste officer functions• Build trusted relationships with customers while ensuring appropriate risk management and regulatory requirements are met• Ensure non-compliant cases are resolved in a timely and reasonable manner

Responsible for leading a team of 4 Trade Waste Officers to manage the day-to-day functions of Trade Waste to ensure the protection of people, assets, treatment processes and the environment by ensuring compliant trade waste is discharged into the sewer network.This includes managing a team of trade waste officers to directly engage with customers in the field and undertaking monitoring and assessment of customer treatment processes and discharge qualities. This includes management of non compliant customers and reviewing trade waste consents.

The key point of contact for industrial trade waste customers to establish strong business relationships, negotiating trade waste consents, monitor trade waste discharges, carry out pricing assessments and assist in resolution of non-compliant cases.Management of all levels of industrial and commercial trade waste customers which includes the highest category of risk customers• Assess trade waste applications against concentration, mass and flow limits, discharges of prohibited substances and consider environmental issues• Check material safety data sheets (SDS) to help identify chemicals held on site that have the potential to be discharged to sewer.• Inspection of pre-treatment apparatus to ensure compliance and determine enforcement measures and processes to manage non compliances• Ensure trade waste contracts adequately protect the sewerage system, personnel, processes, recycled products and comply with our regulatory requirements• Monitor customer’s compliance with their trade waste contracts and in conjunction with the relevant manager or expert, take appropriate action to resolve non-compliances in a timely, reasonable and customer focused manner• Provide focused, efficient and effective customer service• Ensure pricing assessments reflect current discharge quality and quantity by processing quality and volume assessments at appropriate intervals• Understand customer’s processes to ensure compliance to the trade waste standardsPerform regular audit monitoring of trade waste discharges to sewer from tradewaste customers• Provide advice on waste treatment issues and other broader environmentalpractices to promote enhanced outcomes for customer and community alike• Carry out surveys for illegal / unauthorized trade waste discharges• Carry out investigations in accordance with Trade Waste procedures and OHSrequirements outlined in both SEW and customer site SWMS documents
