I perform forensic engineering investigations primarily for insurance carriers or attorneys. I investigate and report on mechanical and/or electrical failures for cause, origin, and repair/replacement options. The broad range of disciplines for these investigations include: Energy and Power, Industrial Equipment Assessments, Automotive Assessments, HVAC Systems, Diesel Engines, Agricultural Equipment, Commercial Roofing Damage, Water Intrusion, Piping and Plumbing Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, and Elevator Equipment.

I prepared budgets and proposals for field demonstrations and tests primarily for coal power plants. I engineered solutions for sorbent injection, refined coal technologies, particulate control, and emissions monitoring. I helped customers to develop solutions to best meet EPA regulations for mercury and acid gas control. I organized, executed, and managed complex field demonstrations ranging from a few days to six months which included: equipment logistics, scheduling, chemical ordering, site-lead duties, and test plan management. I analyzed, prepared, and presented weeks worth of emissions data to customers, including lab analyses coordination. I designed, built, and implemented a fully automated pilot-scale fabric filter which has full emissions measurement, data logging, and small-scale sorbent injection capabilities; I acted as the equipment expert after initial implementation. I prepared final reports for field demonstrations and tests describing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. I helped develop a new product-line offering for emissions monitoring equipment services and maintenance

I prepared technical work documents to provide repair/installation instructions for components, piping systems, and rotating machinery. Included investigation of engineering drawings from multiple suppliers. I answered deficiencies/problems on active work. I was a member of the Main Propulsion group that provided support for US Navy's Nuclear Pacific Submarine fleet. I specialized in turbines, main reduction gear, condensers, and supporting steam and lube oil piping/valves. I coordinated operations with electrical, structural, and test engineering, as well as technicians and financial department.I held a Confidential security clearance with the US Department of Defense.
