A connector and driver in business and education, I am a collaborative leader inspired to bridge interests and to align efforts across units, identifying innovation trends and growth opportunities, activating cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to launch global initiatives, and promoting intercultural communication and competencies. Whether helping a university to build integrated experiential learning pathways, launching new global learning platforms abroad, or establishing an XR global learning lab, I'm at home innovating alongside diverse, talented colleagues.I was born in RI (USA) before beginning my journey through the world. I have lived and worked in Vermont, Utah, Montana, Kentucky, South Carolina, UAE, Italy, Mexico, UK, France, Taiwan, China, Myanmar, and Thailand. I love the arts, literature, language, and philosophy, beginning my career as a Humanities and Chinese professor before directing global engagement offices at Centre College (Kentucky) and Clemson University (South Carolina). I am best known for my work in experiential learning and international education and am currently working with API to help university leadership leverage global programming, infrastructure and state-of-the-art technology to create integrated Personalized Pathways for all of their students.I maintain working proficiencies in Chinese, Spanish, Italian and French, and am an author and translator of Chinese fiction and non-fiction. When I need a recharge, I retire to the woods (like a good little Taoist).
