Managed a development team in Bangalore, India consisting of software and data engineers, and engage with Brand to understand their needs. Assisted in the development of Dynamic Segmentation Targeting (DST) application for several of AZ biopharmaceutical brands. The objective of DST is to use data science to segment health care providers (HCPs) in degrees of loyalty to the brand. This information helps sales representative tailor their on label messaging to the HCPs. The work primarily involved translating requirements from Brand to technical tasks for delivery and to drive the delivery process. We were developing a tool that allowed Brand to stitch together workflows consisting of ML modules (such as deciling, k-means, etc). The workflow would take in petabytes of claims data along with the enrichment from the data science models for HCP propensity and patient eligibility. This would allow the creation of custom segmentation of HCPs for each Brand. Also worked on providing the initial ground work for their Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of DS & AI Application. The work involved provide some process and guideline which starts from proposal intake to post product support. This involved for each step along the way, what are the pre-requises, the work to be done, and the deliverable (which tend to be the input for the next step). Proposed a Confluence layout for DS & AI Application including a standardize layout with page templates for each product/project to follow. This work involves coming up with guidelines for different groups that is part of the SDLC, socialize the proposal guidelines to elicit feedback, and work on a finalized and accepted process. At Honeywell Kansas City (for the DoE), we customized our Peaxy Lifecycle Intelligence (PLI) to support the scientists. We created a data pipeline that collected files from lab instruments, parsed the data and stored them into a database. Their PLI provides them custom visualization of the data as dictated by the scientists as well as management of that data. This was an air-gap deployment that started as a Proof of Concept (PoC) and now PLI is part of their software offerring integrated into their LDAP and single signon environment supporting dozens of instruments with more being added over time. For the Navy's Advance Weapons Elevator (AWE), we customized PLI for Condition Base Maintenance (CBM+) PoC, this was comprised of two parts. One was would be for the crew and the other to control the elevators. The crew screens consisted of two primary views. The Overwatch view was a 2-D dynamic logical view of all elevators displaying state of its doors, ramps, etc and their fault states. There was a 3-D view of the elevator, that help zero in on fault location. For CBM+, sailors would have pareto of the failed parts. They would also online access to the technical manual to assist in repairs. The PLI also provide a means to track the life cycle of the failures. The other part of the application drove the AWE simulation, allowing the movements of the elevators as well as introduce faults into the system. For the Navy's Applied Research Lab (ARL), we customized PLI for CBM of the High Pressure Air Compressor (HPAC), the Advanced Carbon-dioxide Removal Unit (ACRU), and the Battery Management System (BMS) for the Virginia class attack submarines. We provide visualization of the equipment's health at a component level. By using sensor data from the assets, we hope to create ML algorithms in order to detect failures before they occur. Show less

Our charter was to assist the continuous building, deployment, and testing of Cisco's Digital Network Architecture Center (DNAC) product. The complexity here, is that DNAC was not a single product but was a composition of many networking applications dependent upon one another. The job consist of ensuring the quality of DNAC through a suite of testing across multiple machines. This requires building proper automation tooling that integrates with Jenkins, extracting logs and sending generated reports to the offending team. Many of the Jenkin runs took hours, so it was essential to provide constant monitoring. There was continuous effort at reducing build, deployment and testing. Our work was data driven, so we constant collected metrics from our pipeline, sending logs and data into Elastic Search, InfluxDB, and Postgres. We used that data as part of our failure detection, developing statistical and ML models. The derived metrics was also used to create a shared dashboard providing transparency for the Business Unit (BU). Show less

I have worked with this product from beta to its current version. The product runs on Linux CentOS using Hypervisor and LXC Containers to provide an abstraction from commoditized hardware. I managed 4 to 5 other engineers for the last 3 years, setting priorities and assigning tasks and defects. I helped sustain the existing product in the field as well as lead effort to incorporate new features in new releases. We also had to re-architect the original SM code to make it more manageable. This required devising a strategy to evolve the product from the original code base to a more sustainable one. I assisted teammates with feature designs and provide technical assistances as needed. On the technical aspects, I helped layout the base infrastructural pieces of the product. I personally worked on the out of the box installation, workflow engine, persistence layer, storage class management, online/offline upgrade, certificate security, add/decommission of nodes, user management, domain user interface, configuration propagation, file indexing, file search, search statistics, dossier management, thumbnail generation, and compute node management. The project evolved, and due to performance needs we replaced our use of JBoss, Seam, Hibernate, and EJB, to lighter weight Java applications using RMI, file persistence, and Tomcat. Code generation using Velocity and XDoclet were written to generate boiler plate code; such as RMI calls between the server and the client, file persistence mechanism, SOAP APIs to our product, CLI interface, and i18n string localization. The GUI using JSF required creating custom JSF tags that were generic enough to use with our Java template components; this allowed for widespread reuse of tables, accordions, and other widgets. Since MaxiScale cloud file storage is a clustered environment, we relied on RMI for our event notification to the root node and map-reduced calls for cluster wide operation and cluster wide data retrieval. There was a large emphasis on minimizing resource and network bandwidth use, in order to allow the file system side greater usage. Show less
