I am in my 30th year as a Kansas educator — 20th in a district level leadership position. Currently, I am the Deputy Superintendent of Blue Valley Schools in the suburbs of Kansas City. Prior to Blue Valley, I spent 8 years in the Lawrence School District in a similar capacity. My other district leadership experience includes 3 year stints in Tonganoxie and Ellis where I was Superintendent of Schools.Blue Valley School District Leadership of district with 23,000 students & 3,500 staff. Managed district finance, facilities & operations. Supervised development & execution of $380 million budget. Planned & implemented a $187 million & a $251 million school bond. Developed plan for multiple athletic facility improvement projects including: $12 million athletic stadium, $10 million for field turf on baseball & softball fields, $3 million for video boards in HS gyms and stadiums.
