Current* Three municipal departments consolidated under my leadership leading to an increase in operational efficiencies for the City, demonstrating a trajectory of increased responsibility.* Research and develop housing policies that promote stable, desirable, and inclusive neighborhoods characterized by a high-quality housing stock, with a data-driven decision-making mindset.* Transitioned antiquated complex internal paper based workflows to be entirely electronic.* Spearheaded a regional effort through the First Suburbs Consortium for the selection and adoption of a parcel based permitting and code enforcement platform now in use by over 12 communities in Cuyahoga County. Synchronizing with county databases, this tool modernizes the day to day operations of multiple departments leading to dramatic increases in efficiency, customer service, and regional collaboration. * Established continual improvement strategies leveraging the principles of LEAN Six Sigma in the day-to-day functions to reduce inefficiencies and eliminate defects.* Leverage conflict management background to resolve disputes with residents, property owners, realtors, and tenants for issues associated with code enforcement activities.* Developed and lead programs and policies that continue to eliminate housing blight and stabilize the housing market stemming from the effects of the 2007 Housing Market crisis. As a result, home values in Shaker Heights have now exceeded pre-housing crash levels and at a rate faster than any other east side inner-ring suburb.* Respond to challenges associated with overseeing construction of the Van Aken District; the single largest mixed-use development in the City’s history, at a cost of over $200M in investment. This was achieved without increasing staff due to streamlining of processes and creative use of technology.* Oversee the team responsible for processing over 6,500 licenses/permit applications and conducting over 9,000 inspections annually.
