Ultimately, it all comes down to law of attraction—if you put your best self forward, you can expect the same energy in return.Unfortunately, throughout my college years, I was unable to put my best self forward. Contrary to popular belief this was not because I was too lazy to leave my dorm. It was simply because I lived in the middle of Iowa and lacked access to a barber that met my culturally specific needs. Let's just say, deciding to grow my hair out was not out of sheer desire. In 2019, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) began to regionalize Maricopa County to better reflect its diverse communities from rural to urban communities, and racial, ethnic, age, and socio-economic diversity. Regionalization was supported by the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment which is conducted every 3 years. This assessment provides an opportunity for residents to inform data collection efforts about health issues, social determinants of health, community strengths and opportunities impacting their communities which is then used to generate Health Improvement Plans. Hospitals, government, community, and faith-based agencies come together to work on these issues through the Health Improvement Partnership of Maricopa County (HIPMC).In June 2022, using Health Disparities funding provided by the CDC, MCDPH created three Community Advisory Boards (CAB) located in the Central, Southeast, and Northwest Valley. As agencies have worked together within those CABs to create Regional Health Improvement Plans, they came to the realization that not all identified communities are represented. Therefore, MCDPH contracted with additional agencies (such as ClipDart) that represent the following populations so that they may participate in the existing CABs:• People over the age of 65• Currently or previously incarcerated individuals• Rural areas• Racial or ethnic minorities• Tribal• Refugee, immigrant, migrant or asylum seekers• LGBTQ+• Disabled• Homeless/UnshelteredClipDart’s nonprofit arm named “The ClipDart Giveback” was selected to be apart of the Northwest CAB.

1871 provides support (i.e. mentoring, launch preparation, building investor relationships, etc.) for digital start-ups as they move towards market entry.ClipDart was dubbed a fit best for their "build" track - a track ideal for founders who have demonstrated some early market validation with a scrappy prototype.

Also, developed Light in the Night (LIN) which provided summer events focused on conflict mediation, street outreach, case management, re-entry, and victim assistance services in areas of the highest risk.

Managed operations and budget for one of 20 neighborhood youth sites (Perspectives High School Joslin Campus) Led 30 at-risk high school students through classroom activities that addressed ways to counter violence, raised their capacity to de-escalate conflict, and inspired positive decision making by enhancing their vision of the various peace-building processesAccomplishment: Assisted in the planning and creation of a “Peace-making Project,” which was implemented within the students’ neighborhoods and showcased to public health professionals at a peace fair on Daley Plaza

Managed team of 2 MAPSCorps field coordinators and 12 youth mappers in the methods of data collection. Led the implementation of the MAPSCorp STEM-based, youth development curriculum.Led youth mappers through the design and implementation of their research project.Accomplishment: Effectively used crime, infectious disease, and transportation data to make health resource recommendations at a professional healthcare symposium.
