I started my career interning at music booking agencies and concert venues, and waiting tables on the side. However, as a Pell Grant recipient, I realized my passion was in causes related to access and opportunity. That’s why, after graduate school, I eventually pursued careers in higher education, college access, social innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem building. Those fields have helped me sharpen my learners mindset and galvanize my generalist approach. My experiences have led me to: -Plan, execute and promote events for 10-3,000 attendees; -Distribute nearly $50K annually in grant funding for social innovation projects; -Design and implement a national partnerships strategy to advance entrepreneurial and leadership development for aspiring startup leaders; -Coach and train young people to design group facilitation experiences and leverage Ideation, Human Centered Design and Risky Hypothesis Testing; -Design annual giving campaigns, write compelling appeals and grant proposals, engage major donors, a build lasting sales relationships to the tune of $1M+ in charitable contributions and earned revenue;-Build volunteer engagement programs for groups of 10-40+ Board Members, Giving Society Members, and Alumni Boards; -Lead teams ranging from 1-13 employees, setting departmental vision, strategy and coaching team members to achieve their goals; and -Provide cross-functional leadership working with a variety of C-Suite leaders in roles ranging from executive assistant to the CEO to Vice President. Outside of my professional life, I love the Minnesota Timberwolves, attending concerts, running, and drinking too much coffee.
