Design, implementation, and testing of production FW (C and assembly) running in both DSP and embedded-Linux environments. Including:- media access and link control algorithms for a point-to-multipoint fixed-wireless communications system- interface with external SPI flash, FRAM, EEPROM, LCD- over-the-air security and encryption (AES, key generation and distribution)- packet buffer management- memory structure - message handlers- application logicHigh-level wireless network troubleshooting and analysis. Simulation and comparison (MATLAB) of proposed wireless media access and collision avoidance algorithms.Design and development of a modular multi-protocol packet parser and storage system to support Product Validation activities.

Duties included: - conducting surveys of relevant literature- development and testing of software tools for measurement automation, data acquisition, geolocation, remote connection to measurement devices, simulation and emulation of wireless channels- setup and maintenance of measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power amplifiers, weather monitoring equipment, GPS receivers, antennas and cables)- planning and executing measurement campaigns with emphasis on the statistical reliability of the sampling strategy and obtaining unbiased results- statistical reduction of measurement data- development and validation of channel models- technical writing and editingNOTE: Switched to part time studies in September 2010 and graduated in August 2013
