My name is Kylie Compe, and I describe myself as an explorer, photographer, journalist, producer and environmentalist. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Journalism — Reporting, with certificates (minors) in Digital Studies and Photography. My educational background has primed me for a career in storytelling. I currently work as the Science Education Producer for PBS Wisconsin Education where I develop science videos and classroom materials for educators. This position has given me a greater sense of responsibility, knowing that I am educating the future change-makers of our society. I use my passion for traveling as an opportunity to broaden my view of the world and learn more about people and cultures, as well as about the planet that we all inhabit. My goal through photographing and writing about my adventures is to entertain, educate and inspire others to push their boundaries and discover the world around them. If you want to see more of this side of my work, visit my travel blog kpctravels.com.I am always looking for ways to further pursue environmental activism, whether it be through impact journalism, thought-provoking photography, documentary filmmaking or personal action. Storytelling has always been my strongest talent, but my passion for protecting our natural resources has given this talent a purpose.
