About Kylie Pascoe

ABOUT ME:I love great stories! I love to watch them, I love to tell them and I love to share them!I am an Australian producer with a strong background in strategic film marketing. Starting my career with Telco giant Telstra, my development and implementation of innovative marketing campaigns saw me become the youngest and only female State Sales and Marketing Manager. In 1997, I moved into television and continued to create innovative campaigns alongside several Hollywood Studios. In 2006, I launched Red Thread Studio, helping Australian distributors connect their films with audiences through specialised marketing campaigns. Since then, I have had the privilege to work on the release of 31 diverse films and television series including the multi award winning Samson & Delilah and the blockbuster Paranormal Activity. In 2011, I became an official advisor to the Gold Coast Film Festival and in 2013 took over as Festival Director for the 2014 and 2015 festivals. During this time, I dabbled in production, working as Production Manager on two documentary series and producing a short film - The Score - under my newly formed production company Ruby Red Films. I was invited to sit on the judging panels for the prestigious Bond University Film and Television scholarship program, and final year student script assessment panels. In 2016, I moved to Victoria and redefined my career as a Producer in which time I have produced six feature films and documentaries, and co-produced eleven feature films and series for international release. My latest feature documentary The Art of Incarceration and drama feature Love is in the Air were both acquired by Netflix for global release. I currently sit on the board of the Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival, am a member of Bond University’s Independent Film Advisory Committee, and am the Vice President of the Queensland based production company Jaggi Entertainment......and loving it!

  • Gold Coast Film Festival
    Festival Director
Gold Coast Film Festival Oct 2013 - Jun 2015
    Gold Coast, Australia
In 2011, I became an official advisor to the Gold Coast Film Festival and in late 2013, took over as Festival Director for the 2014 and 2015 events, establishing three of their flagship events – The Women In Film Lunch (and film program), The Chauvel Award and SIPFEST (Shorts in Paradise Festival) on the beach.Changing the festival strategic direction, my small team and I increased the festival audience from 4,000 (in 2013) to 15,000 in 2014 - my first year as director - and it has been growing ever since to become Queensland’s largest screen culture event. The Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) celebrates and promotes all aspects of film and filmmaking from one of Australia’s pre-eminent filmmaking locations and travel destinations – the Gold Coast. From internationally acclaimed dramas, comedies and genre films, locally made indie gems and family features, the GCFF offers a culturally diverse, interactive and engaging program of film, events and special guests, and is now recognised as one of the top four Australian Film Festivals.I left the festival due to my relocation to Victoria in 2016.https://www.gcfilmfestival.com/
  • Footprint Films Limited
    Marketing
    Footprint Films Limited 2008 - 2009
    Sydney, Australia
  • Movie Network Channels
    Marketing Director
Movie Network Channels Jan 2000 - Jun 2004
    Sydney, Australia
The four years spent with pay-tv service MOVIE NETWORK were among the most rewarding of my career. Regardless of their individual critical reputation, we treated every title as a gem, finding new and unique ways to promote to both the influencers (pay-tv platform sales and service staff and media), and to the influenced (the end viewer). These campaigns were fully integrated (trans media) and included online elements, publicity, print advertising and promotional activity. During this time, MOVIE NETWORK evolved from a relatively unknown brand with limited subscribers, to market leader.
  • Tv1 General Entertainment Partnership
    Marketing Manager
    Tv1 General Entertainment Partnership 1998 - 2000
    Sydney, Australia
TV1 is the home of television's greatest hits. From the best in comedy and action, the grooviest movies and more, TV1 has something for everyone. At the time I joined TV1, the channel had a brand issue and lacked appeal to the lucrative 18-39 market, so the challenge to give TV1 “street cred” began mid 1998. With an on-air repackage, it was my goal to then re position the brand with those that carried the most influence – the platform staff that sold and serviced the channel (FOXTEL and AUSTAR) and the media. Information flow to the both groups was redesigned to reflect the new brand values and alignments with non traditional mediums were developed.
  • Telstra Mobilenet
    State Sales & Marketing Manager
    Telstra Mobilenet 1994 - 1996
    Sydney, Australia
I worked with MobileNet for five years in total, working my way from university graduate to State Sales and Marketing Manager. During my time in this (latter) role, I was the youngest State Manager and the only female to have achieved this level in what was a very male dominated industry. Not bad for a country girl just out of Uni!
