Member of the schools senior leadership team working on the set-up development of a brand-new provision (Cody Oaks) for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, duties include:• Strategic management of all pastoral care, behaviour approaches and therapeutic interventions• Whole school lead on Restrictive Physical Interventions school policy and being the schools lead “PRICE” trainer including implementing and monitoring of recording and best practice• Producing and implementing clear, evidence-based improvement plans and policies for the development of therapeutic interventions and pastoral care within Cody Oaks• As a member of the leadership team, ensure the development of a positive ethos across the unit, in which all staff have a strong commitment to the principle that all children are able to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum with the right support• Ensure that there is a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions in place• Analysing student behaviour data, evaluating the impact of interventions and facilitating the sharing of outstanding practice• Work with the wider leadership team to translate the vision into agreed objectives and operational plans which will promote and sustain improvement within the school• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead• Developing, planning and implementing a new whole school community outreach offer• Strategic leadership and line management of the Eden resource, a placement for Emotional Based School Avoiders, including overseeing pupil journey and the curriculum• Strategic oversight of all attendance matters within Cody Oaks, monitoring trends, providing reports, monitoring persistent absentees and implementing action plans to raise their attendance• Implementation of Alternative and Offsite Provision processes and procedures with oversight of safeguarding a range of offsite providers• Contribution to the SIP and SEF with key areas of responsibility

Supporting the Headteacher as a member of the Extended Leadership Team, in developing and leading provision for SEND, Looked After and Pupil Premium students across the secondary and post 16 phase. Developing the SEND provision at Key stage 3, 4 and 5 as well as managing the statutory responsibilities for all vulnerable groups whilst contributing to driving standards up across the college.Main Responsibilities:• Leading and coordinating SEND Provision across the secondary and post 16 provision• Leadership & Management of the complex package provision and online learning packages• Supporting College leaders in developing evidence-based provision which enables all vulnerable students to access the curriculum• Leading and Developing systems and structures at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 to identify and plan appropriate interventions for vulnerable groups • Responsibility for the monitoring of progress and attainment of Looked After and Pupil Premium Students• Ensuring looked after child PEP meetings take place by coordinating and leading the process ensuring involvement of phase leaders and other staff• Writing and submitting requests for Education, Health and Care plans• Setting up and leading on systems for screening students at point of entry, identifying, assessing and reviewing provision for SEND children once identified• Collecting and interpreting specialist assessment data gathered on students and used to inform practice• To provide and support the delivery of SEN outreach within local schools• Overseeing all access arrangements for examinations.• Leading EHCP annual review meetings.• Manage the LAC and Pupil Premium grants, SEN and Intervention budget as well as individual programme budgets (approx £500,000 per year)• Act as the designated Safeguarding Lead for SEN and Looked After Students • Developing of the complex needs commissioning process, ensuring buy in of other local authorities• Representing the College at Local Authority SEN Panels

Currently covering in the absence of the Assistant Headteacher with specific oversight of legal statutory processes and student provision.
