For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a user experience designer, researcher, and consultant to create excellent digital experiences that find the sweet spot between surpassing user expectations and meeting business needs.During this time, I’ve come to believe that the success of a digital experience has little to do with my individual ability to develop detailed research plans, build robust wireframes and prototypes, or design impressive mock ups – although I enjoy and excel at those aspects of my work.I have increasingly found that the most successful digital products are a result of working in a cross-functional and collaborative way in which I think outside the bounds of my designated responsibilities, empower others to share their ideas and strengths as part of the process, connect the dots for colleagues and clients on both micro and macro levels, and think holistically beyond the digital screen.My goal is never solely to reach an excellent end result, but to create processes and ways of working that continuously provide growth and value for myself, my colleagues, and my clients along the way.
