Worked as lead supervisor for Reactor Laboratories Division onboard USS Nimitz for 4 years, reviewing chemistry and radiological control logs for two nuclear reactors. This included reviewing and supervising radioactive discharges, the generation and disposal of radioactive material, and maintaining chemistry for two reactor plants and steam plants. Additionally, I monitored radiation exposure for over 800 personnel, and planned and coordinated preventative and corrective maintenance for two nuclear reactor plants. I also served as a devoted mentor for over 20 young sailors, helping them with not only professional development, but with personal development as well. Currently I am stationed at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, NY qualified as a Mechanical Operator, Plant Leading Engineering Laboratory Technician, Engineering Watch Supervisor and Engineering Duty Petty Officer on my second nuclear platform. I was a Section Leading Engineering Laboratory Technician for one year, responsible for supervising 7 sailors in my division and ensuring radiological and water chemistry compliance. Currently, as a MARF Prototype Staff Training Group Member, I schedule and track all required nuclear and non-nuclear training for over 400 personnel, and assist in running and grading in-plant drills. My current transition date is March 2018.
