About Laith Abu-Taleb

Hey there! 👋 If you're more into hearing and seeing than reading, check out my website: www.LaithAbuTaleb.com 🙌Flashback to 2012 🧐 I kicked off my journey in genetics 🧬 I anticipated a realm akin to what I had seen in CSI. But reality hit differently, leading me to switch gears and establish WARAGAMI, now transformed into yOOusers. We're all about crafting edutainment kits for all ages! Check us out at www.yOOusers.com 🟪After diving deep into gamification for a few years, I leveled up with a Master's in Journalism and New Media to amplify my skills. My passion for youth engagement through media, blogging, vlogging, and storytelling drove me to leverage this degree to craft compelling communication strategies and collaboration campaigns. This expertise empowered me to mobilize youth in the MENA region towards impactful causes.I've globe-trotted between Jordan 🇯🇴, Mexico 🇲🇽, Lebanon 🇱🇧, U.S.A. 🇺🇸 soaking up skills while collaborating with UN Women Regional Office for Arab States. Here, I contributed to developing youth-centric approaches, strategies, and managing youth-led movements promoting gender equality and SDGs through gamification and youth mobilization.A quick look into my professional timeline:•2012 - 2016: Bachelor's degree in biotechnology.•2015 - 2016: Internship at the UN Women.•2015 - 2021: Founder and coordinator of Arabic HeForShe.•2016 - 2021: Founder and CEO of WARAGAMI (now yOOusers).•2017 - 2021: MENA Team Memeber at Jodel.•2018 - 2019: Masters in Journalism and New Media.•2019 - 2022: Opening the first interactive space in the MENA region specializes in gamification and edutainment products.•2021 - 2023: International Gamification and Youth Mobilization Specialist Consultant with UN Women ROAS.In addition to the above, I was a member of USAID's Youth Excel program's Global Youth Advisory Council (GYAC) from 2021 - 2023. In this role, I provided input into the project's strategic and tactical decisions, branding elements, collaboration efforts, learning and adaptation approaches representing the Middle East.I advocate for leveraging our resources optimally in our endeavors.
