As an architectural historian at RGA, I worked on a number of projects at any given time. I gained invaluable experience in this position at the firm, conducting primary and secondary source research in archives, county courthouses, and libraries, preparing historic resource survey forms for properties in the Mid-Atlantic, determining recommendations for National Register eligibility of resources, assessing project effects on eligible resources, and writing and producing reports, including project summaries and effects assessments, in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other municipal and state cultural resource regulations.

As a steering committee member I served on various subcommittees, organizing and managing advocacy campaigns, historic tours, networking events, and our annual fundraising party, In With the Old. I served as co-chair for two years, overseeing the committee, running monthly meetings, and ensuring that all of our programming and advocacy efforts run smoothly and are a success.

As a tour guide at Eastern State, I conducted hour-long, guided tours of the penitentiary, educating visitors about the history of the prison, its architecture and design, and the history of penology in the United States. I also assisted visitors at multiple locations around the historic site, answering questions about the history of the prison and directing visitors around the large and complex property.

As an intern at Partners, I juggled several projects simultaneously. I regularly researched and wrote articles for Sacred Places magazine, including a feature about the Arts in Sacred Places program, green building features, and Professional Alliance spotlight articles. I also researched and wrote case studies on specific religious congregations, in support of larger research projects on space sharing between congregations and arts groups and on congregations that have formed separate 501(c)(3) supporting organizations. Through the internship, I also visited historic places of worship throughout Philadelphia to conduct interviews with clergy and congregation leaders, gathering information for Partners’ Halo Effect study.

As Records Technician, I maintained, organized, and updated the database for the Prints, Drawings and Photographs department at the PMA. More specifically, I worked with the databases for the American Modern Print Collection, the Dutch section of the Berman Collection, the Italian Print Collection, and the Drawing Collection. When needed, I examined artworks to verify data and assisted the Collections Manager with special projects, such as checking in incoming gifts and loans.
