These projects included: • Developing formal scopes of work (SOW) in order to remove ambiguity and provide all interested parties with the technical requirements necessary to complete the project. • Reviewing and commenting on various stages of architectural drawings to ensure the security systems met or exceeded USCIS and Interagency Security Committee (ISC) standards, met the specifications laid out in the scope of work, and previous comments were incorporated into each stage of the construction drawings. • Conducting testing and acceptance in order to ensure the electronic security systems functioned properly and identified any discrepancies with the security systems. • Represented USCIS to the General Services Administration (GSA) and other external organizations (security integrators, general contractors, and electricians) ensuring that the security needs of each project were met. Conducted an analysis of contract guard services for 26 offices in the Western Region of USCIS. This analysis aimed at right sizing the contract guard services and resulted in approximately $248K in savings. Completed sixteen separate security reviews to ensure security programs were in compliance with Agency regulations. Awarded certificate of appreciation in Sep 2013 and Apr 2014 for helping coordinate emergency management exercises. Developed a formal evaluation plan for subordinate units, ensuring everyone was evaluated twice a year on essential tasks; these evaluations allowed an objective review of each division’s strengths and weaknesses and provided criteria for a review of subordinate units to the Commanding General. Developed a plan to ensure each Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) crew qualified each year; this resulted in a 210% increase of ready crews in the Battalion. Established a mobile training team to train Fire Support Teams in the use of supporting arms (aircraft, artillery, and mortars); this mobile training team increased the ability of the Battalion to use supporting arms by 45%. Led planning and execution of a two-week exercise with 1,047 personnel and 211 combat vehicles in Fort Irwin, CA; this exercise was the culminating event of two years of training and the largest exercise the Battalion had conducted in five years. Led two separate, two week exercises of over 500 Marines and Sailors in live fire and maneuver training in Boise, ID and Camp Pendleton, CA. Awarded a Meritorious Service Medal for long term planning efforts and management of such a large and geographically dispersed unit.
