Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. Review daily backup logs and reports and analyze/remediate failed backup jobs. Verify and rotate backup tapes. Provide both file and full system restores when needed. Check the performance levels, and the storage capacity of the vSphere environment, as well as VDI pools. Verify the volumes of the NetApp storage servers and adjust accordingly. Assist with the configuration and testing of the DR site. Maintain the Shavlik Patch Management server by reviewing the scan results and making sure the patches are up to date. Use Maximo to input and retain origination’s assets. Document procedures. Collaborate with the desktop team and assist them when needed. View data, and logs to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. Assist in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Work with project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of the organization’s standard project management methodology. This includes the definition of needs, and technical strategy; research and development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.

Setup labs to test new technologies before deploying to the end users, as well as recreate problems in the lab to find solutions. Custom built PCs and servers.
