Responsible for all aspects of hotel operations including sales/marketing, financial performance, property maintenance and guest satisfaction. The VP of Operations was both a hands-on and a strategic position providing direction and mentoring to property-level management team members and guiding properties in improving service standards, increasing market share/profit, reducing costs, maintaining franchise standards and meeting investor goals. Additional development responsibilities included investor presentations, securing and strengthening franchise and lender relationships and tasks/inputs related to project identification and market opportunities.During a 2-year tenure with BASK Development, the company doubled its managed hotel portfolio by identifying two unique opportunities to acquire and renovate existing hotels in good markets. The BASK managed hotel portfolio included: Comfort Suites, Schaumburg, IL; Comfort Suites, Elgin, IL; Country Inn & Suites, Sycamore, IL and the Holiday Inn Express of Algonquin, IL.

Participated in the creation of and took a minority ownership interest in Capstone Management Group, LLC, a property management firm within a group of commercial property services offered by HDI, Inc. As part-owner and the company's chief executive officer, responsible for creating Capstone's business model and the oversight of all management company activities. During a 10-year involvement with Capstone Management Group, the company achieved a portfolio of 7 managed hotels including franchise properties (Comfort Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn & Suites, Quality Inn & Suites) and an independent boutique hotel (The Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel, Galena, IL). Capstone Management Group built its reputation and success by filtering all decisions through the following mission statement: "To develop trust with our employees, customers, and owners through consistent standards of operation and responsive action, leading to an overall culture of Legendary Hospitality Service at all our managed hotels.
