The data network uses Cisco equipment for Switches and Routers.Since 2010, additional responsibilities included supporting the data network for the Fonterra Account.Active involvement in and with this team has decreased recently but after-hours assistance is still expected if required.

 Purpose of role:- To provide technical accountability for the Valet Platform/solutions. Direct responsibilities included:- Defining configuration standards for Valet solutions sold.- Ensuring Valet platform operated to agreed service levels.- Keeping appropriate records of platform configuration and assets.- Co-ordinating and resolving any escalated customer technical issues.- Assisting with billing issues.

 Purpose of role:- To maintain a performance overview of the Netway Private Network Meridian Platform Direct responsibilities included:- Project co-ordination for new/existing customer solutions, and alterations to core network- Managing Call Detail Record (CDR) collection for billing purposes- Providing design input to ensure customer solutions are deliverable- Change control to ensure customer impact is minimised- Performance measurement and reporting

 Management, and provisioning of both the Netway Private Network (NPN) and Facilities Management (PBX Moves, Adds, & Changes) customers Co-ordination of third party service providers for projects, and fault resolution

 Primary function involved learning and maintaining the AT&T Switch that also served as the Mobile Switching Centre for the GSM Network  Other experience (or exposure) gained included:- Radio Transmission Systems, Satellite Communications, and 2.4 Gigabit SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) Fibre Optic Network

 Fault Resolution, and backup supervisory duties in the following areas:- Telephone Exchange (Switching), PBX, Transmission, maintenance, and installation. Completion of basic training – cadet scheme NZ Technicians CertificateDuring this time (1991) I was part of the Network Operations Restructuring Project Team which was tasked to break down the Telecom Auckland Local Network Centre structure and centralise into function groups. Primary task was to assist with the centralisation of the Activations Group (Telephone Exchange customer moves, adds, & changes).
