The Foothills AHEC Pathway to Medical School program is a residential program for undergraduate pre-medical students attending Georgia institutions who plan to stay in state for medical school and practice primary care in Georgia. The program consisted of 180-scheduled program hours of clinical shadowing, community-based research, and instructional sessions. I acquired 80 physician shadowing hours in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and OB/GYN. I completed a community-based research project about the effect of care packages and inceasing medical literacy on controlling hypertension in underserved areas.
