Lanous T. Wright currently serves as the Director of the Nonprofit University, a unit of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). GCN serves a community of over 1,100 organizations and 4,500 individuals dedicated to making a difference in our communities and our world. Lanous leads a team of professionals that deliver the critical tools, knowledge, and expertise to boost performance and maximize impact. GCN ranks among the top state associations in the country. Prior to his role at GCN he served as the Director of Talent and Performance Management in the Office of Human Resources at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a proud alumnus of Tech, he lead one of the most robust staff training programs in the state of Georgia. His programs provided curriculum designed to enhance the personal and professional development of everyone from office professionals to managers who may one day become the future leaders of the Institute. His unit’s programming covered everything from customer service training to executive leadership development. The success of his unit lead to Georgia Tech becoming one of only six University System of Georgia regional training centers for the Board of Regent’s Professional Development Consortium in which he served as the inaugural Consortium Chair from 2010-2011.Before returning to Georgia Tech, Lanous gained over 13 years of corporate experience at AT&T where he spent 6 of those years as a frontline manager in a customer service call center. Later in his AT&T career he managed a team of process engineers who played a key role in the development of AT&T’s first independent high-speed global data network. Lanous was recognized for his efforts when he received The Chairman’s Award, which is given annually to the top 1% of all AT&T’s employees. Lanous is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and is also the proud father of four children.
