Lara Stone is the Co-Executive Director at The Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County, a program of JRI. Lara has worked with community-based and charitable organizations to develop and sustain successful partnerships for over 30 years. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County provides services to children and intellectually disabled adults who have been victims of severe physical abuse, witness to violence or sexual abuse. The CAC of Bristol County is one of 12 centers in MA. In July of 2017, The CAC merged with Justice Resource Institute (JRI), a social justice organization striving to meet the needs of underserved individuals, families, and communities throughout MA, CT and RI. Prior to joining the staff at The CAC, she was an Advancement Officer at UMass Dartmouth and a principal consultant with the firm, Potentia Consulting. Formerly, Lara served as the Development Officer at the Women’s Fund, a permanently established fund of the Community Foundation of Southeastern MA where she developed and closed a $1 million dollar campaign to support women and girls in the region. Prior to this she was the Assistant Director of the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board, Inc., a public-private partnership focused on ensuring employers have access to a skilled and educated workforce. Preceding this, she served as Executive Director of Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit housing and community rehabilitation organization in Providence, RI. Lara has worked for the Boston Private Industry Council, the Americorps program, City Year Boston, and has consulted with the Mayor’s Office in Boston.Lara served on the Town of Dartmouth Select Board for six years (2009-2015) and lives in Dartmouth with her husband and their boys. She is an active volunteer with various organizations.
