Manage a successful grassroots team for canvassing, phonebanking, texting and other outreach on behalf of a progressive, environmental candidate. The candidate, Dan Brotman, is an economics professor and activist who understands the aggregate effects of income inequality on issues such as housing, environmental racism, and transit access, focusing much of his campaign on environmental and housing justice. He is the founder of Glendale Environmental Coalition and recently led the successful fight to replace a gas plant with renewable energy.- Interview, hire, train and manage a systematic on-the-ground canvassing team of 20 paid canvassers to inform voters of the new LA county-wide election system and discuss issues that pertain to the election of the candidate- Responsible for a team that knocked on 10K doors // 5K calls- Input, calculate & analyze data on contact rates, spot checks & other key metrics- Organize and create voter education materials- Create designs for social media, newsletters and other volunteer, resident & stakeholder communication (samples available by request)- Assist with weekend volunteer shifts by recruiting volunteers, assigning turf and training new canvassers // phonebankers - Mentor 5 interns as they complete tasks to assist the progress of the campaign- Organize events and meetings including but not limited to setting agendas, managing RSVP's and ordering supplies // food- Communicate and report back to candidate, campaign manager & field director- Calculate invoices and complete payroll for paid team
