With a successful track record spanning 14 years in the independent sector, I specialise in events, marketing strategy, label & artist relations and diversity. Extensive experience in championing the rights of independent labels and delivering high profile events and marketing campaigns has led to an exceptional network of contacts across the industry, strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead a team to successfully achieve performance targets and company objectives on the most demanding of projects.My broad portfolio of services includes strategic marketing consultancy, full service event management, project management, PR/media engagement, artist/speaker programming and brand/music partnerships. I also work across a number of projects and initiatives aimed at improving equality and diversity in music, and offer diversity strategy for companies looking to improve and organisations working to effect positive change.Becoming a consultant in early 2018, my client list includes Get On Music/Vision Nine Group (BBC Music Introducing Live), the Music Managers Forum (MMF), the International Live Music Conference (ILMC), Liverpool Sound City, the Musicians Union (MU), The Great Escape Festival, Space Rocks (www.spacerocksofficial.com), Crying Out Loud Productions (www.cryingoutloud.co.uk), Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) and more. With a passion for achieving better diversity and equality in the music business, I write regularly on these matters for the Huffington Post, and recently gave a TEDx talk "After #MeToo: Ending The Music Industry Power Imbalance". I sat for several years on the UK Music Diversity Taskforce, founded the AIM Women in Music conference and co-founded the Music Week Women in Music Awards. In December 2018 I delivered a TEDx talk entitled 'After #MeToo: Ending The Music Industry Power Imbalance".

Working as a consultant, I was responsible for programming all sessions and speakers for BBC Music Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock, 8-10th November 2018. BBC Music Introducing Live is the three day event for aspiring musicians and people looking to work in the music industry, attracting 15,000 people to historic Tobacco Dock for an extensive programme of masterclasses, Q&As, interviews with global music superstars and much more.

In addition to delivering AIM's annual events programme and strategic marketing (details below), as a Director I took on shared responsibility for the strategic direction of AIM, assessing new threats and opportunities to the organisation and sitting on the AIM Board.

Responsibilities:• Organising the AIM Independent Music Awards - the only UK award show to recognise the great and good of independent music. Winners and performers have included Skepta, Adele, Bjork, Stormzy, Enter Shikari, Billy Bragg, The xx, Wiley, FKA Twigs and many more. Full organisation of awards from conception through to delivery, including sponsorship recruitment, budget management, marketing, talent booking and partnerships.• Organisation of regular networking and training events for independent record labels, including the annual Music Connected digital music trade fair attended by over 450 digital music industry figures. Also Indie-Con - the 1-day conference covering all areas of independent label business. • Advising labels on synchronisation licensing and organising the annual conference 'Synchronisation Licensing & Working With Brands'. Edited AIM's 'E-Guide to Synchronisation Licensing'. Wide range of contacts across games, Television, advertising and film, as well as at brands.• Managing AIM’s brand and communication with the wider music industry and media, in particular through management of the AIM website, social media and handling all PR.• Representation of AIM at UK and international trade fairs (Midem, SXSW, The Great Escape etc).

Recruiting new independent record label members and managing the relationship between AIM and the membership.

Starting at AIM as Association Administrator, my responsibilities included PA duties to the Chairman, writing and designing promotional material, assisting with label queries, helping to organise AIM’s presence at industry conferences and planning AIM member networking and training events. When AIM Digital formed in 2005, I took on the additional role of Licensing Assistant, administering collective licensing deals between member record labels and digital retailers (Napster, eMusic, etc).

Responsible for liaising with journalists, compiling press packs and general admin support to the catalogue department's press office - working on releases from Phil Collins, The Ratpack and others.
