I am a PhD student in CIMA at the University of Algarve. My thesis work involves the development of a two-way coupled wave and hydrodynamic model to assess the risks on underwater cultural heritage. Prior to the start of my PhD thesis I held a research position at the University of Algarve in which I managed field campaigns to collect oceanographic data with an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). This work was completed in collaboration with the Portuguese navy. I am highly skilled in computer programming and also completed a full-time web development coding bootcamp course at Le Wagon Lisbon where I learned Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. I further completed a data science course in which I developed skills in the Python programming language. I am highly passionate about the ocean and also hold a master's in science degree in Marine and Coastal Systems at the University of Algarve. I completed my master thesis entitled "Modeling the Impact of Sea Level Rise in the Guadiana Estuary" where I evaluated and analyzed changes in hydrodynamics of the Guadiana Estuary caused by sea level rise with a two-dimensional numerical model.
