Field recognized expert on accurately predicted weather forecasts disseminated to fighting forces around the globe. Qualified in both aviation and maritime forecasting skills, and possess expert knowledge of METAR, TAF, and Upper Air Sounding (weather balloon) codes as well as the interpretation of Skew-T data.While working at FWC-SD, I gained extensive experience on both the sea and shore divisions of the house. My time at sea includes a three month drug interdiction patrol onboard the USCGC MIDGETT along the western coast of South and Central America. While attached to the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76), I also participated in an international exercise known as RIMPAC 2010 in and around the Hawaiian Islands, and also deployed for a WESTPAC deployment onboard to the Western Pacific and in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During this deployment, I managed and contributed to 3,500 aviation and maritime forecast products critical to 16,000 mishap-free flight hours and the safe navigation of over 55,000 nautical miles. While operating in the waters surrounding Japan, I provided tailored weather support for humanitarian aid as well as search and rescue missions subsequent to the Sendai earthquake and tsunami. My final time at sea consisted of a winter patrol in the Bering Sea aboard USCGC RUSH from November 2011 - March 2012 as a solo embarked forecaster, providing tailored support for Maritime Law Enforcement as well as Search & Rescue missions. Upon return from my winter patrol, I became a Maritime Weather Instructor, preparing 50 newly arrived sailors for their upcoming seagoing careers subsequent to moving into the capacity of Maritime Journeyman forecaster where I led 150 personnel while providing remote weather forecasts for ships operating around the globe. While holding this position, I also acted as Training Officer, aiding to the education and knowledge of junior personnel in weather forecasting tactics and advanced meteorological concepts.

Collected, recorded, and disseminated over 10,000 weather observations and products. Acted as quality control officer, ensuring the accuracy of transmitted data. Reported current weather conditions, recommendations for the issuance of severe weather watches and warnings to superior personnel at parent station Naval Station Norfolk, VA. Posted severe/destructive weather condition watches and warnings to assets and helicopter pilots on home station. Provided tailored weather products and weather briefings to the Blue Angels flying team on six occasions in support of a local air show. Supervised and managed four personnel as Lead Petty Officer (equivalent to manager) for one year, ending at time of duty rotation and admittance to advanced weather schooling at Keesler Air Force Base, MS.
