Quantified economic penalty for byproduct methane production. Assessed equilibrium constraints of reaction system.• Due Diligence - participated in Due Diligence analysis of confidential company for acquisition. Assessed technology capabilities relative to conventional industry technologies.

Implemented in 3 ethylene production plants (US & Europe).• Provided technical support for LP model used to optimize purchasing of hydrocarbon feedstocks for use in Dow's Gulf Coast ethylene plants. Economic model applied at the envelope level for long term planning and at the site level with flexi-cracker furnaces for short term production planning. Estimated savings of $30 MM/yr in purchase of advantaged feedstocks.• Defined computational strategy for advancement and application of large-scale CFD modeling to steam cracking furnaces for ethylene production. Systems studied included low-NOx burner design, coil configuration, and combustion air distribution manifold designs with annual savings of > $10 MM/yr in improved energy performance.
