Larry Ahern was elected to Florida’s 66th District in the Florida House of Representatives after winning the November 6, 2012 election, with 53.1% of the vote. District 66 includes most of Seminole, half of Largo, portions of Clearwater, and the beach communities north of Park Boulevard to Clearwater. Larry was first elected to as a State Representative in 2010, but his district boundaries and district number changed due to newly drawn legislative lines after the U.S. Census.Larry grew up in a large family in a small town outside of Detroit. With seven brothers and one sister, he learned early on in life the value of responsibility, discipline and hard work. Larry’s first taste of business was shoveling snow for neighbors and delivering newspapers to nearby homes.Larry served in the United States Air Force for four years and settled in St. Petersburg in 1978. He became a small business owner at the age of 26 when he started his own company.
