I am presently an Instructional Media Specialist at Grand Prairie Independent School District in Grand Prairie, TX. I received my B. S. Degree in Industrial Technology from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS and after working in the private sector returned to Collin County Community College to obtain my teacher certification in Technology Education 8 -12 and returning later to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ to obtain a M.S. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology.In my first 9 years as an educator I taught several courses and held several positions with Dallas ISD at H. Grady Spruce High School including Campus Technologist and being part of the E-Team or Technology integration Team. Most notably I had the opportunity to be the On-Campus Coordinator and Instructor for the first of eight schools chosen nationally to Pilot the National Academy Foundation’s, Academy of Engineering and obtain certification at the University of Texas at Tyler Ingenuity Center to teach IED, POE, DE, and EDD.My other strengths include being a creative thinker, problem solver, long-range planner and the ability to communicate with a diverse group. Throughout my career, I have had the chance to lead, coordinate and be a part of several initiatives. I have dedicated myself to using technology as a catalyst to assess students, create effective technology based instruction and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of educators. I enjoy the challenges of education, working with teachers, parents, students, and the business community to provide all students with an innovative and quality education.
