Since leaving OSU, I have been busy running a web retail business and consulting for several small companies, as it relates to the design of their IT Infrastructure and Management Structure, the development of a road map on how to implement changes.

Responsible for the infrastructure that supports production and development environments at Ohio State University. This includes e-mail, web, financial and human resource systems, enterprise storage and the student information systems. Management responsibilities include an Assistant Director, 3 technical architects, 5 managers and 40 professional staff.

Appointed to a dual-role that was responsible for IT support for both the academic and business needs, along with instructional support. During this time, I was responsible for the public computing lab operations, responsible for the academic IT and instructional systems support throughout main campus and the Remedy Group that managed the ITIL problem management processes adopted by our support services. Served as Director of ATS, in his absence. These functions include classroom support, eLearning, customer education and helpdesk operations. While in this role, the management responsibilities included four managers, approximately 25 professional staff and 125 student staff. In addition, I was responsible for the management of infrastructure related projects in Operations.

• Provided design support for the delivery of instructional materials through streaming video.• Managed the bid process for major departmental acquisitions. Also served as technical leader for the development of an RFP and selection of the University’s prime computer vendor and coordinated the warranty programs.• Lead the effort to support Windows 2000/XP, and Mac OS systems for 30 departments throughout campus in a cost-recovery environment.• Developed and maintained annual operating budgets and provided fiscal reporting for the department.
