Cyber Security Specialist (Scar)
CurrentAnalyzes areas of concern, identifies problems, and resolves conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and user representatives.Regularly analyzes complex technologies and prepares recommendations to MAJCOM General Officers and Senior Executives Services level National Defense decision makers. Leads and/or participates in discussions, meetings, conferences, committees with other US Federal, DoD, and State agencies.Consults with base officials and working groups, customers and other organization personnel on IT concerns.Responsible for conducting a comprehensive assessment of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited by an Information System (IS) to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls. Provide an assessment of the severity of weaknesses or deficiencies discovered in the IS and its environment of operation and recommend corrective actions to address identified vulnerabilities.Prepares and presents briefings which outline problems and solutions and keeps management aware of their role in adopting changing technology and processes.Disseminates information and ensures computer security practices are adhered to by all functional areas.
